Lou Harrison at Dartington

The American composer, Lou Harrison (1917-2003), was a student of Henry Cowell, Arnold Schoenberg and K.P.H. Noroprojo. He often incorporated elements of non-western cultures into his work, which included a number of pieces written for the Javanese gamelan and for gamelan ensembles constructed and tuned by him and his partner William Colvig.
